Rocking Adirondack Chair Templates:

Our Rocking Adirondack Chair plans make it simple to design and construct a beautiful rocking chair. Enjoy detailed, step-by-step instructions for a hassle-free and rewarding DIY woodworking project.

I have two options:

Plastic Templates

  • The first option is a plastic set of templates which is much cheaper to ship since it’s a thin, lightweight, flexible plastic called polystyrene. With these you would set the templates on your board, trace the shape, then cut out using a bandsaw or jigsaw. You could make the templates on any material of your choice.
  • *Note: Not all parts of the project require templates. The rectangular pieces (for example the seat slats) are not included as they are easily cut with the given dimensions from the included plans

Digital Template Option:

  • This is a PDF digital download that will allow you to print your own paper templates for the Adirondack Rocking Chair.
  • These are created at a 1:1 ratio and you’ll receive a PDF that you can print yourself (Letter size print)
  • With this printed option, you set the templates on your board, trace the shape, then cut out using a bandsaw or jigsaw. You could make the templates on any material of your choice.
  • Not included: Not all parts of the project require templates. The rectangular pieces that are easily cut with the dimensions included with the attached plan (for example: seat slats).
  • This digital download is sent via email upon purchase.

They are intended to be used with the instructional YouTube video showing the building process.

I purchased the digital plans and made my own templates from scrap MDF. Learned some new skills and turned out great.

Huge fan of AW. An absolute rock star for the world of woodworking! However, this particular plan really lacks clear direction. Although the video helps, neither the plans or video work in complete unison. Either way….still a fan.

Built the chair based on the printable templates. Turned out to be a good size for my 10 year old, but not what I was expecting. In the plans I noticed the assembly instructions contained measurements not matching the template sizes, so I’m guessing they were for the full size and the templates were smaller for some reason.
